Accessible and inclusive features for all festival-goers

At the National Multicultural Festival, we’re dedicated to making the festival accessible and welcoming for everyone. Here’s how we’ve ensured an inclusive experience:

Accessible Parking 

We encourage the use of public transport due to limited parking in the city, but accessible parking is conveniently located near the festival at:

Additional accessible parking is available further from the festival at:  

  • Outdoor carpark: corner of London Circuit and Constitution Avenue
  • Civic Pool: Allara Street 

Check individual car parks for costs. A free festival shuttle conveniently stops near these car parks, providing easy access to the event. Visit our Getting around the festival page to view the shuttle bus map and schedule. 

Accessible & Ride-Share Drop-Off Zones 

Accessible drop-off zones are located at: 

  • Rabaul Lane and Akuna Street 
  • Binara Street, near Crowne Plaza 
  • Ainslie Place, on the Cooyong Street side of the Canberra Centre

Accessible Toilets 

Accessible toilets are conveniently located throughout the festival at: 

  • London Circuit, near Civic Square 
  • Corner of Bunda Street and Akuna Street 
  • Glebe Park, near the Workshop Tent

Quiet Space 

Need a moment of calm? Visit the quiet space at the Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre (Level 2). 

  • Open during festival hours 
  • Ideal for visitors with sensory sensitivities, parents, or anyone needing a break
  • Access is available via the lift or stairs

Multi-Faith Prayer Room 

A multi-faith prayer room is available at the Theo Notaras Multicultural Centre (Level 2). 

  • Open during festival hours for prayer and reflection
  • Accessible via lift or stairs.

Seniors’ Space at Civic Library 

COTA will host a quiet, relaxing seniors’ space at the civic Library on:

  • Friday 7 February: 10am – 5.30pm
  • Saturday 8 February: 10am – 4pm
  • Sunday 9 February: 12pm – 4pm

This is a great place to take a break during the festival.
