Formed in 2006 as a PhD project at the ANU School of Music, the ANU Chinese Classical Music Ensemble has grown into a vibrant collective of 18 musicians. Their repertoire spans centuries and regions—from Jiangnan silk-and-bamboo traditions to folk tunes from Anhui, Hangzhou, Yunnan, and Inner Mongolia, as well as contemporary Chinese compositions. With qualified teachers among its members, the ensemble brings authenticity, artistry, and cultural depth to every performance. Audiences can expect a rich musical journey that celebrates the diversity of Chinese heritage.
