Introducing Charlie Needs Braces, the latest music project from Naarm-based artist Charlie Woods. A proud GuriNgai woman and direct descendant of Bungaree and Matora, Charlie’s heritage is deeply connected to the lands spanning the Central Coast of NSW, the mouth of the Hawkesbury River, and Northern Sydney. Charlie has graced the stage with acclaimed acts like The Teskey Brothers, Casey Donovan, The Seven Ups, and TEK TEK Ensemble. Now, she steps into the spotlight with her solo venture, Charlie Needs Braces. Her talent and dedication have been widely recognized, earning her First Place at the 2022 Upstart Awards and the Archie Roach Foundation Award for Emerging Talent in 2023 through Music Victoria.
