With over 15 years of captivating performances in Canberra and surrounds, the 8 piece band Los Chavos stand as pioneers of original urban Latin music in Australia. Their journey began with the release of their debut EP in 2008, a testament to their vibrant live sound and unique artistic vision that blended ska, Latin rock and Andean rhythms. Their debut album, “SuperMeng,” released in 2012, marked a significant evolution in their sound and showcased the band’s signature energy alongside intricate arrangements and an array of Afro-Latin rhythms, from cumbia to dub/reggae, merengue, timba, and chakarera, all while maintaining their ska/reggae roots.
