Te Rere O Te Tarakakao is a proud Māori community group with deep roots in Canberra, originally formed in 1981. After a decade-long hiatus, the uri (descendants) have reunited to strengthen cultural connections for Māori across the Canberra and Queanbeyan region. With performers aged 5 to 79, this rōpū brings the richness of Māori performing arts to life through harmonious waiata (songs), stirring chants and powerful haka. Their performance is a celebration of heritage shared across generations, offering audiences an unforgettable experience of Māori culture, pride and unity.
